Only the memorial stone for Christian Emil Rantzau on the hiking trail near the gatehouse can be viewed. The new, enclosed courtyard complex was built between 1723 and 1729 according to plans by the master builder Rudolph Matthias Dallin in the late Baroque style. The client was the then estate owner, Christian zu Rantzau. The manor house was demolished in 1802 and replaced with an early Neoclassical building. The Danish architect Christian Frederik Hansen was responsible for the planning and supervision, and he constructed the new manor house between 1803 and 1806. Until its takeover by Prussia in 1867, the estate also served as a patrimonial court.[1]
