Tips

You can only see what you have on your doorstep, only when you have been somewhere else and traveled on supposedly much-touted long-distance cycle paths. The Vennbahn from Aachen has a good surface, is well signposted and you can get through without a lot of hitchhiking, which would not otherwise be possible on this piece out of the city in the bacon belt. And yes, of course you have to keep your eyes open. Skaters, strollers, fair-weather cyclists ... Most of the time you are on the road faster than the rest 😁

The entrance is easy to find at Aachen Rothe Erde station. It rolls great. Since you are traveling in a city, of course not always free of intersections, but the connections are always clear to find. If you come out of the city area, the first two railway viaducts are already waiting.
