The arboretum in Frommenhausen now comprises a total of 37 so-called "Trees of the Year," the appeal being that a new tree of a different species is added each year. The original idea was to awaken interest in the diverse appearances of different tree species and thus highlight their importance to nature and their benefits to humankind.
