The stone lookout tower is the trademark of Brandenkopf. Since 1929 there is the 32 meter high tower, which you can climb all year round. A donation is requested. The Brandenkopf gets its name from a big forest fire in the year 1730. Before that the mountain was named Varnlehenskopf. The view from the 945 meter high mountain is spectacular. With really good visibility you can even see the Vosges.

Next to the observation tower you will also find the Berggasthof. In addition to a large beer garden, there is also a playground for romping for children. Tuesday and Wednesday are closed. Further information can be found here: brandenkopf.net.

Good place for an overnight stay on the Westweg. Although something off the beaten path, but definitely recommended. The peace here is unique.

The Brandenkopf - King of the Middle Black Forest. The 32 m high observation tower has a fantastic view (admission € 0.60). There is also a television tower on the summit, but it cannot be visited. At the foot of the observation tower, the Black Forest Association maintains a hiking home (closed on Mondays and Tuesdays). It is also possible to drive to the summit by car, but this is not easy. Conclusion: a visit is definitely worth it

With the Brandenkopf you climb one of the highest mountains in the middle Black Forest. The 945 m high mountain has its name since 1730, when a big fire raged on the summit. From the stone brandy tower, you can even see the Alps on clear days.

Very nice hiking trails with great views

The Brandenkopf is known as one of the most beautiful panoramic mountains in the Black Forest. With a height of 945 m, it rises above the surrounding landscape between the valleys of the Kinzig, the Harmersbach, the Rench and the Wolf.
There at the summit we must have been cursed by the "beggar woman". We had hiked up the Brandenkopf without snacks, since the restaurant was supposed to be open - but unfortunately it was closed for -1- week - EXACTLY from the day of our visit... 😢
