The stone observation tower is the trademark of the Brandenkopf. The 32-meter-high tower has been there since 1929 and you can climb it all year round. Donations are requested. The Brandenkopf takes its name from a large forest fire in 1730. Before that, the mountain was called Varnlehenskopf. The view from the 945-meter-high mountain is spectacular. If the visibility is really good, you can even see the Vosges. Next to the observation tower you will also find the mountain inn. In addition to a large beer garden, there is also a playground for children to romp around in. Tuesday and Wednesday are days off. You can find more information here: brandenkopf.net.

It is better to take the Westweg variant over the Brandenkopf, here you have beautiful views and after the Brandenkopf the route continues on paths.
