Lienzingen, a district of Mühlacker, is known for its historic center, which is protected as an Etterdorf. The town center consists of a barn ring and well-preserved half-timbered houses. Also here is the oldest known rural residential building in the Karlsruhe district, built around 1441 and extensively converted into the Zum Nachtwächter restaurant in the 1990s.

Examples are available from almost all periods of historical timber construction. When they are lined up on the streets, they form a closed ensemble, as only a few other villages in Baden-Württemberg can show. Today's townscape extends in its expansion and the arrangement of the houses, at least back to the late Middle Ages. Since the 15th and 16th In the 19th century, multi-part farmsteads shaped the townscape.
