49th Parallel Sculpture Wössingen

The 49th parallel runs right here. So you are on the same level as the border between Canada / USA, Budweis in the Czech Republic or Karlsruhe. An information board will point this out to you. There is also a bench for a break and to enjoy the beautiful view that you have here, among other things.

The world has long been divided into lines of longitude and latitude. One of these, the 49th degree of latitude, runs through the district of Wössingen. The class of 1949/1950 took this as an opportunity to set up a sculpture to mark the spot three years ago.

A geographical feature can be found in the Wössingen district. The 49th parallel runs through here. In 2017, the class of 1949/50 Wössingen erected a sculpture with a globe on top to mark the spot.
