Hikes to Hindscarth take you to one of the principle summits on the classic Newlands Round, though many completing the round miss it, as it’s some 2,000 feet (600 m) north of the main route. It shares many of neighbouring fell Robinson’s characteristics: a long and interesting ridge system that reaches northeast and a broad southern flank that falls in steep, regular fashion to the Honister Pass.

    Hiking

Hindscarth is a 2,385-foot (727 m) fell on the popular Newlands Round. It's surrounded by brilliant views on all sides, it's hard to know where to look first! The Skiddaw massif and the Coledale fells dominate to the north. The towering peaks of the Scafell range can be seen to the south. The Helvellyn range is in view to the east. Close-up neighbours Dale Head and Robinson also look mighty fine. This really is a fell where you could sit and enjoy the views for a long time on a warm sunny day.

Hindscarth was my second Nuttall of the day. Great views.
