When hiking up the ridge from Catbells, Maiden Moor is the next summit you will reach. While its flat summit is no rival to that of better known neighbours Catbells and High Spy (the next summit you reach), it is a delightful place to be and forms part of a truly iconic Lakeland section.

Lots of places to stop and take 5 up here, after Cat Bells and in preparation for High Spy. As always along this ridge, there are great views either side, start early to avoid the foot traffic.

Maiden Moor - it's hard to go up Catbells and not continue on to Maiden Moor, it's just too tempting! Maiden Moor is a Wainwright fell of the Lake District and is 575m in height. It is the second Wainwright along the popular Newlands Horseshoe (if walking in a clockwise direction).
