Viamala Gorge

The Viamala Gorge is a must-see when visiting Graubünden. It is a place where you will have to hold your breath in amazement. The steep rock walls reach 300 metres down to the roaring Rhine. It is hard to imagine that from the 15th century onwards traders made their way through this gorge with their livestock and transport. No wonder that Viamala translates as "the bad way". You can learn more about the history of the old trade route across the Alps in the picturesque and unique "Casa Storica" museum in Andeer.
