The architect Fritz Stuber built the Plochingen schoolhouse in 1900, which the municipal administration moved into as early as 1919. To this day, the building serves as the town hall, housing the city administration. A bronze sculpture group by the artist Andreas Theurer, dating from 1988, adorns the town hall square. The central motif of the sculpture group is the double-headed medallion, symbolizing past and future, around which three other figures are grouped.
