The Schwanenburg was built in 1896 as an excursion restaurant in the pleasure garden laid out by the merchant Geffers in 1884 (see the old photo from 1913) and experienced an eventful history from a pleasure pub with cinema and theater to the Markgrafschen beer pub in the 1960s. Eventually the buildings were demolished.
At the beginning of the 2000 years there was movement here. The neighboring traditional company Stichweh bought with its real estate company 'Stichweh Leinepark GbR', the Dr. Hanno Ziehm and his father Hans Ziehm, great-grandson of the company founder Friedrich August Stichweh, opened the area of the former bed spring factory and the parking lot of the former university area and started the project "Stichweh-Leinepark". It includes parts of the former Schwanenburg site, but also its own Stichweh area. The "Stichweh-Leinepark" was created with a capital investment of 15 million euros. The architects Hübotter & Stürken was responsible for planning and execution.
And finally Dietmar Hagen revolutionized the canteen kitchen and demonstrates this very well here in the Schwanenburg. Regional, organic, whole foods and ... a pleasure. In the Schwaneburg everyone can relax on their feet and enjoy peace and good food.
