Count Palatine Christian August donated in 1656 a hexagonal wooden chapel on the Kastenbühl, the present Annaberg, in which the late Gothic picture of grace St. Anna Selbdritt set up again and the Annenwallfahrt extinct with the Reformation was resumed. The "Welsche" master builder Johann Rampino replaced the chapel in 1676 with an oval central building in stone. Enlargement took place in 1787 by the master builder Sulzbacher Johann Zeitler, in which the eastern half of the central building was preserved as a choir. The walls of the nave are divided into Tuscan pilaster pairs with beams. The tower dates from 1827, in its basement there is a Lourdes grotto with votive images. The organ was made by Elias Hößler 1731/32, the high altar dates from 1737, the choir litter from 1741/42. Count Palatine Karl Theodor had 1754/55 the avenue to Annaberg create with Stations of the Cross. Open during the day to the choir gate.

Saint Anne is the mother of Mary, the mother of God, who is not attested in the biblical texts, i.e. the grandmother of Jesus Christ. However, it is mentioned in apocryphal (that is, not included in the canon of the Bible) writings, for example in the so-called "Protoevangelium of James". There is no historically reliable knowledge about Anna's life, but there are numerous traditional stories that are summarized, for example, in the medieval "Legenda Aurea" by the Dominican monk Jacobus de Voragine. Among other things, she is the patroness of the Anna Church in Düren (North Rhine-Westphalia), where a piece of her skull is kept as a relic.
In the church calendar, the day of remembrance of St. Anne - together with her husband Joachim - is on July 26th.

In 1656 the then sovereign Palatine Christian August had a small wooden chapel built. This was replaced in 1676 by a stone building. Its expansion into a church began in 1787. The extension of the nave began in 1903, and the baroque tower was built (Wikipedia).
