Ritter-Wirnt Fountain at Gräfenberg Market Square

The Graefenberg market square with the town hall, a beautiful fountain and a city gate well worth seeing and also some smaller shops is really worth seeing and a visit. Old houses, some with wall paintings, complete this beautiful place.

The Knights Wirnt Fountain, from 1789, stands on the market square of the small town of Gräfenberg. The hexagonal fountain commemorates the city's most famous son, the minstrel "Wirnt von Grafenberc", who was born here in 1170. He was a minstrel and author of the heroic epic "Wigalois, the knight with the wheel".

Nice town hall with a so-called "Nuremberg oriel". The historic Gräfenberg town hall has been the seat of the Gräfenberg city council since 1871. In 1989 the building was renovated, restored and the baroque facade painting exposed.
