Inscription on a blackboard on the house wall:
"The 'Hunter in the Kürnberg' was probably in the 16th century. built and used to be a hunting and forester's house for centuries.
The building burned down for the first time in 1736, but was rebuilt by the then top hunter. During the Napoleonic Wars, French soldiers set fire to the stately hunting lodge.
The respective top hunters and foresters traditionally ran a restaurant in their home. Emperor Maximilian personally granted them the fairness of the bar. The high point of the inn was in the Biedermeier period, when hosts of Sunday guests strolled out of the city. The young Anton Bruckner also knew the restaurant and celebrated the completion of an exam here.
In 1957, the 'Jäger im Kürnberg' became a private residential building. "

In 1502, Emperor Maximilian I is said to have suggested setting up a salt lick there and “a fun kuchl and snug to eat”. Hundreds of years later, in 1863, Anton Bruckner passed the composition test at the "Jäger in Kürnberg". Now only the name and a plaque bear witness to the gastronomic past.

Interesting where Anton Bruckner🎼 went during his lifetime.😉
