A fascinating piece of history that can be reached via hidden forest trails. The right connecting wall of the tower fortification Linz (Maximilian tower line) from the 19th century begins on the right bank of the Danube at the Klause Adelgunde, leads up the slope behind it and ends at the Walpurga control room, which is no longer available today. The so-called connections were on the left and right of the Danube, iron rings were walled in at the two clauses, in which a chain could be hung to shut off the Danube. In 1858 the fortifications were strategically overhauled and abandoned. The wall and the Adelgunde hermitage still exist. The wall can be crossed at the place where the highlight is set. Caution, fragile parts!Information about the Maximilian Tower Line:

Very impressive. I only became aware of this piece of cultural history through the "tower hike".
In any case, sturdy shoes are highly recommended, partly steeply rising terrain.
