There is a restaurant with a beer garden facing the Sagter Ems (Leda) directly on the bridge, which was revised in 2022 and has a sufficiently wide cycle lane. A good opportunity for a rest, coffee and cake, or a solid meal.

The history of the Sa(g)terland is closely linked to the Sagter Ems. Until the 19th century, the Saterland, surrounded by moors, could only be reached by boat via the Sagter Ems. It was thus the only traffic route to transport goods and people between Saterland and the surrounding area. Therefore, there was a lot of shipping traffic on the river at that time and some shipyards were operated in places like Strücklingen. The Sagter Ems was also a trade route between the North Sea coast and the Westphalian hinterland in the Middle Ages, so in 1457 Groningen secured unhindered trade to Westphalia in Sagelderland to Friesoythe in a contract with the chiefs of Greetsiel and Esens.
