The landscape window "Water" (Tange) is one of a total of five landscape windows in Ammerland. The observation towers were built in 2002 and point out the special features of the region. The "tower of the dike judge" in the district of Tange is a symbol of the abundance of water in the region.

In Apen, in the district of Tange, is the "tower of the dike judge". He addresses the water abundance of the municipality, through which a number of waterways lead, which are connected to the North Sea via Jümme, Leda and Ems depending on the tides. The observation tower is located at the local "border triangle" where the Ammerland, East Friesland and the district of Cloppenburg meet. While these neighbors used to be at loggerheads with each other, today people live very peacefully and amicably with one another and together enjoy the view from the tower down to the Barßeler Tief, a feeding and breeding habitat for waterfowl.
The favorite spot has been given a cheerful, vibrant wall of flowers that evokes the beauty of nature. It was she who made this place a favorite. Here you can enjoy the tides, wind and tranquility.Source: apen-touristik.de/special/destinationdata-details/poi/landschaftsfenster-tange-lieblingsort
