The town of Eltmann am Main is located on the northern edge of the Steigerwald Nature Park. It lies on the banks of the Main between Hassfurt and Bamberg. The tower of the Wallburg is already visible from afar and invites you to stop in the beautiful city.

The city of Eltmann has existed since the 8th century and consists of the districts of Eltmann, Dippach, Eschenbach, Lembach, Limbach, Roßstadt and Weisbrunn. The heart of the city is the historic market square with the monumetal parish church of St. Michael and the former district court building. Characteristic for the silhouette of the small town is the high tower ruin of the hill fort and the remains of the old city wall, which in some places winds through the small alleys. Another impressive sight is the Limbach parish with the pilgrimage church "Visitation of the Virgin Mary" as the last sacral building of the baroque master Balthasar Neumann.
