Tips
This railway viaduct was opened in 1853 and spans the valley of the Rickebach. It looks very similar to the "Altenbekener Eisenbahnviadukt" built at the same time, but is much smaller.
After the "Old Railway" tunneling project to the southwest of the viaduct had failed, the decision was made to build the railway line from Kassel to Paderborn without any tunnel structures. The course was changed, which made the viaducts in Willebadessen and Altenbeken necessary.translated by
