Well what can you say ?! The day today could definitely have been used worse. In wonderful weather, simply set off without a specific destination and had a great tour. The lunch kebab provided enough energy to end the tour properly. I didn't really want to drive that long, but the day was really brilliant. Even the clouds that were gathering towards the end couldn't change anything.

Usually something goes wrong when you drive to work in the dark and come back in the dark. But not today, after work we did a lap with our colleagues, hence the late drive home. Really great in the moonlight! In between, there is also a tailwind, what more could you want. My physical condition after a total of 91 km, of which 30 were characterized by riding with my mostly e-biking colleagues, then ruined the cut afterwards. 🤷♂️

After work we went on a tour with our colleagues. We do this once a year, it's always a nice thing. And in between there is always some "food". ;) In the pictures I have limited myself to those on which the colleagues cannot be recognized. Perhaps not everyone wants to be seen almost publicly on the Internet.

Just a short tour after work (almost) without any particular mess. OK, the mud pit at the end had to be.The weather and mood were picturesque at the end. The sunrises and sunsets are beautiful yellow / orange at the moment and bathe everything in the appropriate light. The reason for this is not so nice: The forest fires in California. We're driving the cart right up against the wall ...During a short break, a few meters behind us, a big deer broke out of the thicket. An impressive experience to see such an animal up close in the wild. Unfortunately, I only had the cell phone ready when it was relatively far away. Therefore, there is only a bit of pixel mash to see.

Kind of a strange tour. It started shortly after Schönthal at the old railway. A friendly contemporary had placed 3 obstacles on the way within 50-100 meters. One of them just behind a curve after a steep section if you come from the opposite direction. Something like that is not safe. I just don't understand these people. I'd love to catch someone like that in the act. That would have the potential for an eventful discussion. Well, the obstacles cleared away and on.The next friendly contemporary then on the Eggeweg a little way behind the telecommunications tower. Was on the road with his partner before me. I drive up slowly and ring the bell at a sufficient distance. Both step aside and let me pass. I say: "Good morning and thank you!". Gossiped answer: "Are you okay ?!" 🤷♂️The following inconveniences were at least no longer of a direct human nature: There were numerous fallen trees or broken tree tops on the Eggeweg. All a result of the bark beetle. Where the dead spruce trees were removed, the remaining trees that remained individually defenseless now fall victim to the wind. And where all the dry, dead spruce trees still stand, the crowns break off in a storm. I put away what could be moved with muscle power. Thanks to the good weather, it was a very nice tour overall. Towards the end, one last tidy up: On a field there was a balloon that was raised during a wedding. Unfortunately without a card, I would have liked to send it back.

Well, we thought we knew better than Komoot. "It must go on there." No, it wasn't. So we had to throw the planned route overboard and fight our way uphill over a field for a kilometer. Just turn around and correct the mistake - would have been too easy. ;)

After two cycling holidays in one go, I somehow lost my interest for a few weeks. But then once again rummaged through something here on Komoot and suddenly the desire was there again. So: Get on the plane and go! ;)I didn't recognize my native forest (or no longer forest) after almost 5 weeks. The damage caused by the bark beetle is changing the entire environment rapidly. And wherever you look: more brown patches of forest that will all disappear. That was far from it.In between made a little detour to our boys' test game. Won 1: 2. :)
