The Gnirshöhle is approx. 2.5 km northeast of Engen in the so-called "Brudertal". In this valley, in addition to the gnir cave of "Petersfels", which is important for karst hydrology. Both caves were refuge for Ice Age reindeer hunters about 15,000 years ago.

The cave is not freely accessible, only as part of a guided tour (from April to September), for which you have to register with the city of Engen.
