The small ferry, ideal for hikers and cyclists, connects Strausberg with the recreational areas of forest and lakes on the west side of the Strausse. The way from the ferry to the west leads us on the way between Fängersee and Bötzsee.
The ferry is probably the only electric cable ferry in Europe and draws its electricity, like an O bus, over a contact wire, which is stretched over the lake.

The crossing is very entertaining. In addition to the beautiful views of Strausberg and the Straussee, photo documents from over 125 years of ferry operation across the Straussee can be viewed.
The ferry is a listed building and is also the "marriage site" of the Strausberg registry office, which is certainly a good location for this occasion.
