The small ferry, ideal for hikers and cyclists, connects Strausberg with the recreational areas of forest and lakes on the western side of Lake Straussee. The route west from the ferry takes us to the path between Fängersee and Bötzsee. The ferry is probably the only electric cable ferry in Europe and, like a trolleybus, draws its power from a catenary wire stretched across the lake.
