Hohenmirsberger Platte Observation Tower

The Hohenmirsberg plate is located north of Pottenstein, one of the main tourist points of the Franconian Switzerland. At 614 meters above sea level, the Hohenmirsberger Platte is one of the highest points in Franconian Switzerland and the northern Frankenalb. It owes this height to its position on the young uplifting zone, which moves from West Bohemia over the Fichtelgebirgsraum further to the southwest. A visit to the Hohenmirsberg Platte and a view from the approximately 22-meter high observation tower is a view from the roof of Frankenalb in all directions.

In beautiful weather wonderful all around. Maple Valley, Franconian Switzerland, Northern Frankenjura and into the Fichtelgebirge etc.

At the base of the tower there is a minerals fossil knocking area for the kidies ... (chargeable!)
