The path here is lined by an avenue of oak trees over 400 years old – a proud sight. But between the trunks lie two fallen oak trunks on the ground, which only upon closer inspection reveal themselves to be works of art. Artist Andreas Kopp has carved one side of each of the trunks so that they fit together like a puzzle – and indeed, the two pieces once belonged to the trunk of a single tree.

The beautiful avenue leads from the estate (castle) to the forest toward the von der Borch family cemetery. To the left and right, you'll find the artwork "Journey and Homecoming" made from two ancient tree trunks.

There are very old oak trees here. A beautiful path up to the Nieheim Art Trail.
