    Hiking

The Holsterturm in Nieheim is THE city's landmark in many ways. It is a meeting point, viewing platform and art object at the same time. The installation “Attack am Turm” can be seen. It is part of the Nieheimer Kunstpath, which was created on the occasion of EXPO 2000.

Spears are attached to the outer walls, giving the impression that the tower has been attacked and has successfully fended off this “attack”. And because the spears got stuck in the tower, the enemy was disarmed.

    Hiking

As a symbol of Nieheim, the Holsterturm on the nearby heights of the Holster mountain south of the city center can look back on a seven-hundred-year history. The former Wartturm, which is also called Nieheimer Warte, can today be climbed via steps as an observation tower and offers a good view of Nieheim. In memory of his contested past spears are appropriate as objects of art.
