Hiking

The lightship Elbe 1 lies on the inside of the historic bulwark "Alte Liebe" in the Old Port. It is operated by the lightship association Elbe 1 of 2001, but belongs to the city of Cuxhaven. The crew quarters with chambers, galley, team and wardroom are as accessible to visitors as the impressive engine room and of course the command bridge. All nautical and technical facilities and instruments are fully functional at all times. This distinguishes the Cuxhaven lightship from many other museum ships.

The Hamburg Lighthouse on the Old Love was built at the beginning of the 19th century in massive construction, namely made of brick. The cylindrical brick lighthouse is the oldest on the German North Sea coast. Although it is no longer in operation, it is and remains one of the landmarks of the city and the port.
