The Tokyo National Museum, founded in 1872, has the longest history among all Japanese museums. The museum has six galleries: Honkan, the main gallery for Japanese art; Toyokan with artifacts from Egypt to Southeast Asia; Hyokeikan and Heiseikan, which were renovated in 2015; the Horyuji Treasure Gallery; and the Kuroda Memorial Hall, where paintings by Kuroda Seiki are exhibited free of charge.

This is a must if you are interested in the history of Japan. But China, Korea, India and ancient Egypt are also not neglected. Very well done.
