Mountain Biking Highlight (Segment)
This gravel road crosses the mountains between Loch Rannoch in the north and Glen Lyon in the south.
Ride easy gravel for most parts, but as it is Scotland, there are always those boggy parts and loose rocks here and there.
It's a beautiful stretch of off-road cycling though, great views and diverse landscapes from forests to wide open views.

Beautiful somewhat hidden pass to the southern Glen Lyon. Even some local hikers in the north didn't seem te know this pass existed. The pass is friendly on the legs and has some beautiful views. Also nice to ride the northern flank through woods.
Part of this highlight is also part of the GBDURO race.

Gravel road that’s quite rocky and wet in places. Steep climb out of Glen Lyon but once upon its pretty flat, probably more suitable for a gravel bike with larger tyres or a MTB. The decent down to Loch Rannoch is amazing though and on much smoother Forestry roads.

We went over this pass, the Kirk pass, to Glen Lyon from the Loch Rannoch on a touring bike & two gravel bikes. Easy ascent from Loch Rannoch on forestry gravel then highest section out of the forest was rougher with a few streams & a bit of walking . Beautiful but steep descent to Glen Lyon road on gravel tracks. Loved this !
