Diagonally opposite Struß's Thorweg, at Rosenstraße No. 17, is a rose walkway. As with its counterpart in the rose garden, the most interesting question seems to be where the walkway got its name. Three different options for the name's origin are being discussed: does the name perhaps refer to the tree garden mentioned here in 1574, which housed a well-known rose garden? Or was the walkway simply named after the street in which it is located, or after the roses in the coat of arms of the branch of the von Stiten family, who temporarily owned this walkway? The roses in the stone plaque above the entrance could indicate this, although it could just as well be that the sculptor who created this plaque was simply inspired by the name of the walkway. The first evidence of development in this area can be traced back to the 14th century, but the first documented mention dates back to the period between 1588 and 1615. An inscription can be read directly below the three roses on the plaque above the entrance. It reads "Der Rosengang 16 H. W. 69." These initials likely refer to Heinrich Wörger, whose children inherited this passage in 1670. Whether he himself was the owner of this passage is uncertain. The inscription below is somewhat easier to read: "Nev erBavt H. H. Flügge Ao 1803." This Hinrich Hermann Flügge, master potter, took over the passage after he became a citizen in 1787. However, the year only refers to the front building, although he had previously restored the somewhat run-down passage.

A hidden beautiful corridor, which starts out narrow, but then gets wider and wider
