The Urmitz Railway Bridge or Engers-Urmitz Rhine Bridge - built during the First World War as the Crown Prince Wilhelm Bridge, was built from 1916 to 1918 as a mighty truss arch bridge and connects the railway lines on the left and right banks of the Rhine. Military reasons were among the decisive factors for its construction. Together with the parallel routes to Neuwied station and the freight station in Koblenz-Lützel, a double-track main line was planned on the right bank of the Moselle. However, due to the First World War, the construction of the line was never completed.

During the Second World War, the bridge was blown up by Wehrmacht pioneers in 1945. Reconstruction continued with long interruptions until 1954. After the war, the Crown Prince Wilhelm Bridge was built as a box bridge, whose parallel truss girders cross the Rhine over a total of 430 meters.

Pedestrians and cyclists can cross the Rhine here on a narrow bridge strip. de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Urmitz_Eisenbahnbrücke

The bridge pillars are somewhat similar to the Remagen Bridge.
