Almost 2,000 years ago, a section of the Roman Limes, some 80 kilometers long, ran along the ridge above the Neuwieder basin. Over time, numerous traces and foundations of gates and watchtowers were rediscovered. At this point, a Roman watchtower was faithfully rebuilt.
