Surrounded by allegorical figures. The monument was created after the death of Maximillian II through a competition that was organized in his honor. The winner was the Westphalia-born sculptor Caspar Zumbusch in 1856. Bronze casting by Ferdinand von Miller. Main character weighs about 5 tons. Unveiling October 12, 1875. In his right hand he holds the constitutional document, his left hand is supported on a sword.
