The memorial for the fallen soldiers of the First World War is located in the center of Herten-Westerholt at the junction of "Kolpingstraße" and "Zur Braut." Next to the reliefs of two soldiers, the names of over two hundred dead from the independent town of Westerholt from 1939 to 1975 can be read.
The memorial was supplemented by a memorial plaque for the victims of the Second World War.
