The Schieritz Castle Mill, whose location is recorded in Ur-Oeder (1589–1602), is probably older. Originally built as a wood and sawmill, it later became a grain mill and hydroelectric power plant. From 1905 to 1917, a spiral turbine supplied 5 kW of electricity for the village, the manor, the brewery, the smithy and the inn. The mill wheel, with a diameter of 3.9 meters and a width of 2.25 meters, was powered by the Ketzerbach and testifies to the historical importance of the mill for the community.
