The Schieritzer Mühle was first mentioned in 1361. It is one of 15 water mills that were once built on the Ketzerbach. The power of the stream was used to drive the mill technology by means of a water wheel. From 1905 to 1917, apart from the mill, even the manor, the brewery, the smithy, the inn and some surrounding houses were supplied with electricity.

Today a water wheel with a diameter of more than four meters is turning again. It was still in operation until 1996, then it was shut down. But 20 years later it turns again and generates electricity. The young Strohmer family from Schieritz produces electricity from water and not just for themselves.
