On a hill on the right side of the Schlichem is the pilgrimage church to the Sorrowful Mother of God from Palmbühl. The pilgrimage season on the Palmbühl begins on May 1st and ends with the Hubertus fair on the last weekend in October.

The earliest mention of Palmbühl dates back to 1331. Many important documents were lost as a result of catastrophic fires during the Thirty Years' War and the fire in 1750. There are two legends about the origin of the pilgrimage site: the first says that a shrine of Our Lady of Sorrows stood on the site of today's church. When they wanted to build a chapel for it and a higher place was chosen, namely the Palmbühlkapf, the building material was always found next to the shrine in the morning. That is why the chapel was later built there.

The second legend says that merchants passing by heard a strange, beautiful singing from the street and entered the Leonhardskapelle that was there at the time. There they would only have seen the image of Mary.

The interior of the church contains many paintings, figures and carvings, some of which date from the 14th century. Outside the Palmbühl is a Way of the Cross with 14 stations, which leads to the Schlichemtal. The Judas Thaddeus Chapel and the Brothers' House are also in the immediate vicinity. In 2006 the Franciscan order left Palmbühl with Father Kunibert. The new pastor on the Palmbühl is Josef Schäfer, originally from Ratshausen. Church services take place on the Palmbühl only from May up to and including October. In addition, the altar of the church was built by a Schömberger son named Urban Faulhaber. The access road to the Palmbühl Church was named after him. In the same case, the square in front of the vicarage was named after the prelate Caspar Oechsle.

Rather inconspicuous from the outside but simply great from the inside

Beautiful chapel with a cloister. Many people come to see the crib at Christmas.
