The town hall also fell victim to the town fire of 1540. During the reconstruction in the transitional style to the Renaissance, it received the characteristic west gable with rich stucco tracery and the windows got curtain arches. The burghers liked the lavish decoration - soon two town houses with similar gables were built. In the years that followed, the town hall was rebuilt and renovated several times.
