From the visitor center at El Portillo, the worthwhile transmitter No. 1 goes off in the direction of La Fortalezza. Easy but beautiful hiking trail with beautiful views of Mount Teide. Absolute highlights are several large stone benches at particularly beautiful vantage points.
Sit and just enjoy.
The Cañadas and the trail are at 2000m: so pack a windbreaker, hat and drink, it can quickly get cold or hot. And a hiking stick is part of the equipment anyway.
