Has not driven a hundred for a long time. So today is something like a totally lucky day. Had (or took?) So much time, so not having a guilty conscience because this and that was left behind, such great weather and asphalt everywhere! Great idea with Siegtal. I'll repeat again, in the spirit of Cato the Elder: "Ceterum censeo Carthaginem esse delendam" - the Latin has no trouble here - but Google translate is also allowed. So hic e nunc: "Siegtal at 30 degrees is fully g..l!" With that I am already at the end of my Latin. The route was somehow easy: just keep rolling straight ahead, otherwise it will be steep right and left anyway. In that case, there is something wrong with the route.
But the side valleys were all closed today and at 30 degrees there was enough to do: knock 4l away. And what do I say: I didn't have to go to the toilet either. No tree complained.
It started not so early in the morning. But it was still pleasantly fresh under the many shady trees on the roadside and the steep slopes. And somehow all of "..schland" seemed to have to do with errands for the kicker-grill overkill of the evening. In any case, parking spaces full, street free. So perfect for wet t-shirt time in the sunshine.
Only between knowledge and Hamm it was more like "being boiled": open platter, midday sun and the touring profile tip. Thus UV 50 was also justified.
The rest of the route pleasantly cooling airflow. The sun reflected in the water of Victory and the rapids glittered enticingly. And since yesterday I know how to suppress stupid ideas: So don't do the gray heron and splash around, no side valleys, just drive, drive on the autobahn.
In Betzdorf I thought about not getting bread rolls, but about eating right away. OK then. And the daytime running lights are still being tinkered with, because only 2 photos over 110km: that's not possible!

Picture book day, nice and hot, carpooling. Sure: a short bike tour, just roll slowly downhill before the thunderstorm, I think. That is still possible. How nice. The reality: endless stop and go through Waldbröl's city construction site. Where there was an ice cream parlor, the traffic suddenly rolled - upside down world. Finally get out and go.
Around the corner, great, construction site again. No alternative, so using the tingling "driveway" Waldbröl-Boxberg to the height of Neuenhof: here should be asphalt! In principle yes, but not today and probably for a while. Roadway foundation renovation: if you love a bike, you push.
Once at the top, thank God a breeze for cooling.
The Morsbacherstr. leads me briefly and nicely over the height with a view of the Westerwald. I can't get my mobile phone from the holder, the stupid new daytime running light bothers. Why do I actually drive with light, the sun is already on ???
Just want to enjoy, komoot wants to go right into Heide. A shame and yet beautiful: via the "Route66" into the Gierzhagener Bachtal down to Siegtalstrasse. in Rosbach. Section for completely relaxed rolling downhill, zero traffic and a comfortable temperature under trees. Pedals are only a footrest here. More of it please and an ice cream van upstairs would have been awesome now. Didn't come because of the construction site.
Turned onto the Siegtalstraße, great, not excessive Friday traffic and pedaled nicely in the flow until after Hoppengarten. Siegtal is just g..l at 32 degrees.
Then I had a very stupid idea: drive up through the Kaltbachtal - nomen est omen, at least in the past. So just up to Rieferath. I notice: Kaltbachtal is no longer cold at all! Is currently being refurbished in a spruce-like manner, zero wind, nice and hot and uphill, full roaring i.d. Sun. The cut is also i.A.
What a scabies. A sentence with X. Who drives uphill in this weather ??? After this good choice, just let it roll down via Neuenhof to Herchen, back to the Siegtal and back to Eitorf in the shade. Go then.

      Sommerwind v.winne07
So tender that it is like a miracle
the summer wind sweeps over the meadows,
although his breath was felt very easily,
every blade of grass gives way to its grace,
The silence is followed by a warm rustle,
one is inclined to eavesdrop on him.
To feel the wind as a light breath
to dive into the other world,
which our dreary everyday life hid well.
So completely peaceful and yet so strong.
You feel it gently and you are ensnared
like a feeling that hugs you.

A little more time for a little round of work after work: great, sun and sometimes RR with you. Of course, over the high roads. It smells like Maad everywhere, mmmmh.
Irlenborn-Lindscheid-Vierwinds and the Siebengebirge greets you. Buchholz-Bennerscheid down and through the Hanfbachtal towards Hennef. Into the Siegtal and briefly soak up the evening atmosphere on the ascent to Blankenberg. Spontaneous break at the Cologne Gate, a bit of silence and sunset. Through the Katharinentor over the calm heights of Süchterscheid-Bach into the Siegtal and on to Eitorf. 25 *, beautiful early summer weather, the balcony season seems to have started: consistently clear slopes and the air full of the scent of meadow herbs. Fine, the quiet, sunny evening round was still worth it.

Small after-work round. Nothing new: one might think. But the pool life on the edge of the corridor is developing anew. Some, recently reported at Wilden 13, still a nursery from Quappen zum Lurchie, have now dried up despite the rain. Hopefully the big offspring have moved to the wet meadows.
The small mini biotopes are constantly changing. The rain of the last few days unfortunately also pressed the machine oil into the gutters on the flat slopes of the clear-cutting zones. So it's surprising to see little new tadpoles. May they be lucky and be able to withstand the oil spill, algae bloom and lack of oxygen. The short warm phase caused an algae bloom in the pools lying in the sun. This does not happen in "covered" areas, the water is clear.

sunsetNow the day is drawing to a close
      and celebrate sunset,
gives away its light in red fires,
      tenderly light the sky.
The sun sinks in a deep glow,
      permeates this firmament of fire
and plunges the valley in a warm tide,
until the shadow of the mountains separates them
But she greets us for a while,
kindly holds up the rose hand,
until the night comes without hurry
      with her blue star ribbon.
