"The 'waterstone' is a rock slab connected to the earth with a kettle or bowl-shaped depression in which rainwater collects. These depressions are created by erosion of the predominant sandstone and are found in the same form more frequently on mountain heights in the Palatinate Forest. The shape and depth of the hollows can vary greatly. Colloquially, water stones are often referred to as soup bowls, deer troughs, bolls or tub stones."

For Ritterstein fans: Another Ritterstein (No. 155; on the Schlossberg near Frankenstein/Palatinate) has an identical name. - With this knight's stone no. 151, the inscription also includes an arrow pointing towards Wasserstein.

A nice place to rest, there is a bench right next to the Ritterstein.

Immediately next to the PWV-Ritterstein with the ordinal number 151, several water stones are found, which are filled by rainwater. The Ritterstein points to it.
