The sculptor Günter Mauermann saw the Tillenberg - the natural border to the Czech Republic - no longer as a "barrier from Hüben to Over there", but as a link between the countries.
This open-mindedness is also expressed in the fountain, "because you can see right through it". The Tillenberg and its surroundings contain a huge drinking and healing water reservoir from which the town of Bad Neualbenreuth and the Sibyllenbad are supplied. This is shown in the fountain: the water comes from the depths of the mountain, through caves and over ledges it ripples down into the fountain basin. The bubbling water also indicates the lively development of the market town, which would be unthinkable without this water.

The Neualbenreuther Sagenbrunnen was created by the sculptor Günter Mauermann.
It is a fountain designed out of the incline. "
The height of the fountain is subtle, but thanks to its subtle play of shapes it radiates strongly into the room. ”(G. Mauermann). The fountain shows the Tillenberg broken and permeable.
From inside the legendary Tillenstadt emerges in all its splendor. Sibylle, the wise woman and seer, crouches at the foot of the massif. The permeability of the mountain symbolizes the borderline situation
Czech Republic. The Tillenberg has become a link between the Stiftland and the Czech Republic. Eight different legendary figures have been incorporated into the mountain range in the Sagenbrunnen. With a little patience and imagination, you will discover all the legendary figures!
