The Nuremberg telecommunications tower, which also bears the name "Nuremberg Egg" because of its egg-shaped tower basket, was built between 1977 and 1980 according to plans by the architect Erwin Heinle. Structural engineer was the civil engineer Fritz Leonhardt.[1] It is the tallest building in Bavaria and is the third tallest television tower in Germany after the Berlin and Frankfurt towers.
