Station 25 of the Pegnitztal - Ost nature adventure trail at the Hammer hydroelectric power station shows the values of the green electricity generated. Hammer hydroelectric power station at the factory estate, even with a fish ladder

The Pegnitz flows past the northern edge of the Hammer factory estate. There is the first weir upstream in the city area. A small hydroelectric power station was built there. Hydropower had previously generated energy for the factory estate at that location.

The ambitious plan in 2015 was to significantly increase the proportion of electricity generated by water in Bavaria to almost 25 percent by 2025 (in 2020 it was around 15 percent).
