White sausage with mustard and pretzel is not only popular in Bavaria: it is also the clear favorite of guests in the Schutzhaus (1,190m), around 150 meters below the Unterberg summit. In addition to hikers and ski tourers, they also include pilgrims on their way to Mariazell. The adjacent alpine meadows and the playground also make the shelter a popular family destination; from Rohr im Gebirge (parking lot at the former inn in Gries) you can get there in 1.5 or 2 hours and from Muggendorf via the Enziansteig in 3 hours. The tenant team is very keen to take care of their guests. Also worth a recommendation in summer.Source: wieneralpen.at/beherberger/a-unterberg-schutzhaus
