On the way up to the castle ruins there are enough Rastbankerln for the tired ones where the climb is too tedious.
The Araburg is the highest castle ruin in Lower Austria 799 m above sea level, sight and research value you can visit the castle ruins after a small donation - entrance visit - in any case climb the tower, which offers a 360 ° panorama.

    The history of the Araburg
The path from the parking lot to the ruins of Araburg leads steeply uphill through the wooded hill on the Araberg, on whose peak the Araburg towers in 800 m. The path leads from the north to the ruins, and leads over the west almost once around the entire castle, before standing in the east on the square in front of the simple gate. That certainly had the reason, that one goes left of the castle. Thus, the attackers with their uncovered right half of the body, the so-called sword side, to the defenders of the castle.
