The Alster hiking trail is very varied and the Alstertal has the great advantage that it is easily accessible by subway and S-Bahn, for example if you take the U1 to Ohlsdorf or Klein Borstel. Just a few steps from the station, you immerse yourself in the beautiful world of the Alster bank. This is constantly changing. At the beginning of the trail you come across dreamy houses and gardens on the Alster, but later the bank turns into a floodplain landscape. In Alstertal, it is pleasantly cool even on hot days. The Alsterwanderweg is also good for a bike ride. Only on weekends in fine weather, it is sometimes very busy. One should take care of pedestrians.
