Nice view over Cochem and Reichsburg. Nice hike from the train station or reached by cable car.

Instead of taking the cable car, you can also walk to the Pinnerkreuz and then to the mountain station.
You can enjoy the views of the Endert Valley, the Imperial Castle, the city of Cochem and the Moselle loop at will, if you e.g. lingers at the Pinnertkreuz.
The climb is steep in places (old vineyards) and harbors a slight risk of dizziness, but is sufficiently secured at the necessary points. Sturdy shoes are required!

Of course, you could go down again with the cable car ...
But the hike from the Pinnerkreuz to the valley station is really impressive and you have beautiful views of the city and the hinterland. Good footwear and sure-footedness are absolutely necessary. The path is sometimes steep and rocky. Still highly recommended.
If you want, you can of course also use the ascent ... At temperatures well over 30 ° during our stay at the end of July 2019, that would have been a little sweaty ...: D
