The Schlingenbach is a 6.2 km long, tributary of the Agger. The source of Schlingenbach lies on the northeast flank of the Kleine Heckberg at an altitude of 323 m above sea level. NN. Without touching villages on its way, the brook flows opposite Vilkerath to 108 m above sea level. NN in the agger.

The Schlingenbach valley is largely designated as a nature reserve. The Schlingenbach flows through a wooded area with extensive spruce and beech forests, which also cover most of the valley slopes and are only interrupted by a few hamlets and their grassland areas.
