Even a short walk along the Briese is always worthwhile: swamp atmosphere in the town of Birkenwerder. If you want to experience the pristine river and swamp landscape in the Briese valley more intensively, you should hike from Birkenwerder to the Zühlsdorfer Mill in spring or summer.

The Briese is a creek around 18 km long and flows into the Havel. From Birkenwerder you can do very nice hikes in the Briesetal. The path runs partly on planks in the swamp and is an experience.
