Papchenluch and Bogenluch are remaining bogs in a moored channel, which drains towards the breeze.

Now there is also in this luch a Bieberburg right next to the trail, even if it is still small compared to those in the breeze. Hopefully there will not be too much water lost in summer.

The Papenluch, like the Bogenluch, which lies a little further north, is a meltwater channel from the Ice Age. It drains into the Havel via the Briese. After the end of the Ice Age, a fen worthy of protection was formed here with special vegetation such as sundew. After reunification, the area was renaturalized and has been part of the Briesetal FFH area since the beginning of the 2000s.
