The Lobach Valley was redeveloped industrially at least twice:
1. from the early modern period through hammer and steelworks with reservoirs and canals
2. From 1904 to around 2000 through a sewage treatment plant with the laying and piping of the stream.
Today the stream has been converted to a natural state (see waterboelles.de/archives/20312-Lobach-Renaturierung-wertet-Naherholungsgebiet-auf.html) and is a popular local recreation area. Traces of the industrial past can only be seen in the upper reaches, otherwise they are well hidden.

Beautiful little stream in an equally beautiful stream valley.
The stream flows through the Hammertal and powered various water hammer mills there.

Unfortunately, most of the hammers and huts are no longer preserved today. the area is very suitable for hiking.
